I truly love being an orthodontist. It feels like such an honor to be part of someone’s journey during a time when they are growing and changing. While we focus on straightening teeth, what we are really doing is helping people feel more comfortable and confident in who they are. I never take lightly the trust families place in me, and I feel grateful every day that I get to do this work.
While I take my work seriously, I definitely do not take myself too seriously. My favorite part of working with our patients is making them laugh and brightening their day a bit. I believe a little humor goes a long way in helping people feel comfortable and at ease.
One of my favorite moments is seeing the change that happens beyond the smile itself. At some point, patients stop covering their mouths when they laugh. They start smiling a little bigger in photos...they just seem more at ease. Watching that confidence grow is incredibly special. Knowing that the work we do can help someone feel proud of their smile and carry themselves with more confidence is what makes this profession so meaningful to me.
Family and Community
My wife and practice partner, Dr. Barbara Siargos, and I have two children, Elly and Marco, and two energetic bernedoodles named Annie and Toula. When I’m not in the office, I love traveling, Chicago White Sox baseball, and my new woodworking hobby. As a family, we love to eat, especially when Dr. Siargos is cooking!
Education and Continuing Education
I was 12 years old when I announced to the world my intention to be an orthodontist. Going through braces myself at the time, I was absolutely fascinated by the unique combination of art and science. Now, almost 20 years into my career, I find myself becoming more passionate about the specialty every single day. I love that we have the ability to change people’s self-esteem, grow their confidence, and alter their self-worth just by creating a beautiful smile.

By attending meetings nationwide and actively participating in multiple study groups, we find the tools and ideas not just to create great smiles but provide an experience for our families unlike anything they’ve had before. My involvement in the American Association of Orthodontists, Midwest Society of Orthodontists, and the Illinois Society of Orthodontists allows me to continue my education in all aspects of orthodontics and dentistry.
